Basic Nutritional Recipes for Cats

Cat Omelet

1 tablespoon nonfat dry milk*

3 medium eggs*

3 tablespoons dry-curd cottage cheese*

2 Tablespoons sprouts or grated or chopped vegetables

Daily supplements as recommended

 

Mix the dry milk with a little water and beat with the eggs.  Turn into hot greased skillet.  When the bottom of the egg mixture is cooked, turn it over and place cottage cheese, sprouts or vegetables and supplements on top.  When firm, fold over (omelet-style) and serve.  Or, Scramble everything together at once.

Yield:  about 1 cup

 

Tasty Tofu

6 ounces tofu*

3 tablespoons grated cheese*

2 tablespoons sunflower seeds*

1 tablespoon nutritional yeast

1 tablespoon grated or chopped vegetables*

Daily supplements are recommended

 

Mix the ingredients together in a blender, adding a little water, broth, tamari sauce, or tomato sauce as needed for proper consistency.  Or, if you don’t have a blender, chop the seeds as finely as possible and mash everything together well.

Yield:  about 1 ½ cups

 

Lean Meat ‘n’ Eggs for Cats

2 medium eggs*

Daily supplements as recommended

¼ cup (about 2 ounces) organ or lean meat*

1/3 cup cooked brown rice*

1 tablespoon grated or chopped vegetables*

 

If you cook the eggs, scramble them first lightly with the supplements (and meat, if you cook it).  And rest of the ingredients and save. 

Yield:  about 1 cup

Feline Fatty Meat Menu

¼ cup cooked brown rice*

1/3 cup (2-3 ounces) regular ground hamburger or fatty meat*

2 tablespoons grated or chopped vegetables*

1/3 cup creamed cottage cheese*

Daily supplements as recommended

 

Warm up the rice in a saucepan or steamer, adding the meat and vegetables if they are to be cooked.  Mix in the cottage cheese and supplements and serve.

Yield:  about 1 cup

 

Lean Meat Menu for Cats

1/3 cup cooked oatmeal*

½ cup (about ¼ pound) chopped organ or lean meat*

1 tablespoon grated or chopped vegetables*

2 teaspoons butter*

Daily supplements as recommended

¼ cup whole milk*

 

Warm up the oatmeal in a saucepan or steamer, adding the meat and vegetables if they are to be cooked.  Mix in the butter and supplements and serve.  Give the milk on the side.

Yield:  about 1 1/3 cups

 

Dairy Delight for Cats

1 teaspoon oil

1 medium egg*

Daily supplements as recommended

1/3 cup cooked brown rice*

½ cup creamed cottage cheese*

1 tablespoon grated or chopped vegetables

 

Add oil to warm skillet.  Scramble egg and supplements lightly, then mix in the rest of the ingredients.  Warm slightly.  Serve.

Yield:  about 1 cup
