History
Dr. Edwin K. Treat,
founder of Green Mountain Veterinary Hospital, practiced medicine "on
the road" throughout Southern Vermont for the majority of his professional
life. Like most vets of his day, he traveled from farm to farm, administering
treatment to large animals and livestock, his truck serving as a mobile
clinic. In the 1940's he converted a barn into a small animal hospital. |

Later,
when his son, Robert, joined him in 1963, advancements in preventive
and small animal medicine and surgery were underway. At this point the
small animal hospital was further expanded. An outpatient office was
added in 1975.

 In
1992, Dr. Robert E. Treat, Jr. joined the practice realizing 60 years
of a family tradition devoted to animal care. Today, Green Mountain Veterinary
Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility, employing the latest in medical
technology to further ensure your pet's well being. Dr. J. Kelly Hudson
became a member of the team in 1998. Dr. Jessica Roosevelt joined us in
2000. |
